Battle of Saratoga

The Battle of Saratogawas near the Hudson River Valley in New York State. On October 17, 1777 the battle took place.The Battle of Saratoga
started because the British troop tried to take over new England. The colonies got angry at the British. The Continental Armyand the British
Army started to fight.

Christmas eve

On Christmas Eve the British thought that the Continental Army wouldn't come and try to fight. The Continetal did come. The Continental Army
Traped the British Army. The British coudltn't get away by land or sea.

During the summer of 1776.

During the summer of 1776, a powerful army under british General Sir Willam Howe invaded the New york City area. His professional troop
defeated and outmaneuvered General George Washington's less trained forces.[3]

As 1776 ended

As 1776 ended the cause for American Independence seemed al but lost. It was true that Washington successful gamble at the battle of
Trenton and Princeton kept thier hope going, but British were still holding the initative.[3]

The Scope of Victory

The scope of victory is made clear by a few key facts. On October 17,177 5,895 British and Hessian troops surrendered thier arms.
General John Burgoyne had lost 86 percent of his forces were defeated by the Continental Army. General Burgoyne was forced to surrened.[1]
